Perhaps there are certain web pages that you would like to monitor and get a notification whenever there is a change in their content. Internet Owl offers to detect those changes. It supports three ways to watch page updates. The default mode is used when you need to know about visible content changes but there is also an exact page watch, which is more sensitive and is able to detect changes even in the HTML code. The third mode will watch for specific keywords and will notify you when these words appear or not on the monitored page.
The application has a modern-looking interface in the same style of Office 2010. The buttons on the toolbar have been arranged according to their importance, so it is obvious that the first of these buttons will allow you to watch a given page. Although a webpage can be watched by just entering a description and its URL, you will probably want to configure some additional options. Apart from the watch mode, you can also specify how frequent you would like it to be checked, provide an email address to send a notification to, and in case of pages requiring authentication, you can enter a user name and the corresponding password. Once you have done this, the page will be added to a watched list but you can also use the folder structure on the left to organize multiple pages according to your interests.
In addition, you can customize how you would like to be notified of changes. In this regard, you can ask the application to pop up a window, send you an email or play a selected sound file. You can also set a schedule and ask the application to start with Windows. In addition, it can be set to start minimized, to minimize to the System Tray instead of closing and to check for updates automatically.
In general, Internet Owl is a carefully-designed and easy-to-use application including lots of features and options that will let you watch given web pages successfully.
